i have a purple octagon plate from the 1930’s. You can see through it. does anyone know what it’s called?

it’s a glass or crystal(not sure) dinner plate from the 1930’s. it’s octagon shaped and a deep purple u can see through. i have the tea cup, saucer and plate. i was told that in the 1930’s the use to give them away in flour sacks. i would like to know what it is. i have had it in my family since 1930. i’d like to collecte more if only i knew the name. some suggested molly. but they didn’t make it in purple.

I believe the purple was called opal ware. Is it of porcelain? Since you can see through it. It is probably made of bone china. Porcelain clay was mixed with powdered bone and this made a real durable china that could be made thin enough to see through.
